Luis Anibal is a 2nd generation coffee producer who was born in Acevedo, Huila. He started working in the family coffee farm at the age of 12, and at 15, his father gave him a small portion of land to produce as his own. From there, he started saving some profits. In 2015, he made a big change towards producing specialty coffee and investing in exotic varieties.

Now working with Cofinet, Luis Anibal is referenced as a star producer. His farm Villa Betulia is 40 hectares and grows dozens of cultivars, such as Gesha, Papayo, Caturron, Pink Bourbon, Chili Bourbon, and others. This list of exotic varieties thrives in Acevedo, Huila, where Luis is based.

This coffee is carefully hand-picked, selecting only the ripest cherry. These then go through a 48 hour anaerobic, whole cherry fermentation in sealed plastic tanks. Next, the coffee is pulped and placed in GrainPro bags at a controlled temperature and sealed for 18 hours, allowing a greater concentration of lactic acids to form during the fermentation process. Following this, the coffee is washed gently, then sundried on raised beds until 10.5% moisture is achieved.
